Tips ‘n’ Tricks for About Fun – Tiny Miners

Play with Precision!

Players have the chance to play safe or play fast in Tiny Miners. Taking the safe sure option will obviously result in less fails yet will also yield lower rewards.  Therefore to truly capitalize on each energy bar consuming play, try to come as close as possible to life threating obstacles before swerving out of the way.   These near misses will award extra bonuses but beware of flirting with danger too far for it is a very fast way to end a round!

Aim for the Chest!

Digging reveals a variety of valuable items and also dangerous obstacles. Thus it is important to know what best to aim for and avoid at all costs.  Coins are must common and needed for purchasing and repairing items.  Gems are next, yet the blue vials which trigger the Magic Super drill which will drill through any object except bombs.  Yet above all items, coins and other elements, collecting treasure chests should be the number one priority of each round and then if need be, be repeated to pick up the coins and stars to pass the level.

Experiment & Craft!

With each new item found, players can experiment in fusing that item with an existing item to create new tools, clothes and other useful objects. Once a new item has been discovered, it can then be crafted and used or sold for coins at the market.  If there are not enough resources on hand to craft the item, then try replying previous missions which have that resource in the mine, (this can be viewed by highlighting a mine before digging).  Otherwise of course, go to the market to buy the necessary resources there.

Imbue and Shatter!

Collecting Magic Dust (pink vials) allows items to be imbued to evolve into a more powerful item which can increase a miner’s health, magic and even decrease speed. To do so, unwanted items must first be shattered.  When choosing which item to break down for resources, compare the stats of two of the same item, if there is a stronger one then shatter the weaker one or more commonly available items.

Be a Hero!

By winning a round with the full three stars, the Heroic level of that mine unlocks. In Heroic stages, rewards and bonuses are greatly improved and should be completed whenever confident of successfully completing a mission, for if players fail to do so, then they will have to wait a certain (lengthy) amount of time before attempts the mine again.

Other quick tips include, always aim to complete quests and missions and to also log in daily to collect rewards.

Personal Impressions of About Fun – Tiny Miners

img_2713

For a lightweight arcade game, Tiny Miners is another game that has a lot going on and quickly becomes quite addictive! The experimenting and crafting aspects along with the use of keys to unlock chests and the selling of keys to get more keys for future chests adds a fun Meta element to an otherwise simple, easy to pick up arcade game.

The slow release of introducing new items with each progressing mine is a great way to maintain interest and keep players coming back for more. The fun and friendly comic animation also leaves a lighthearted atmosphere within the game no matter how annoyingly difficult a particular mine may be.

One of the biggest drawbacks to Tiny Miners is the energy bar meter which runs out very quickly and replenishes quite slowly! That said however, taking all in account, Tiny Miners is a great free game to pick and try out! Three and a half stars out of five.
