Tips ‘n’ Tricks for Mascot Dunks

Free coins

Landing on the exact middle of a platform resulting in a “Perfect Landing” which will reward coins when hit. This is a slow yet steady way to earn coins yet beware, with each dunk the speed increases and the size of the platform narrows which makes hitting the perfect landing harder and harder.

Therefore, another great way to earn free coins is to take advantage of the periodic offer to watch advertisement videos for 100 free coins. Whilst this can be time consuming, it is still the quickest way to earn coins and unlock new characters.  Following simply by logging in regularly boost loot can be

As with virtually every other one-touch control arcade game, the key to Mascot Dunks is purely all about timing. With other games that have a variety of controls, a certain amount of leeway is usually given, yet with one touch controls, the margin of error is almost always intensified.  As such, it is imperative to focus on the minute rather than the major.

The timing of jumps verses the timing of dunking however, is almost polar opposites however. When jumping from trampoline to trampoline tapping will rapidly bring the mascot down to jump upon the next platform.  Yet the speed of jumps is actually quite intense and as such should be timed when the mascot has vertically crossed the start of the trampoline to hopefully be slammed down onto the ideal middle of the jump.

Dunking on the other hand is completely the opposite where patience is the virtue to success. With the rapid change to slow motion upon coming down on the ring, it is easy to get carried away and dunk too early or equally easy to end up watching the slow motion and mistime putting the ball through the hoop.  Therefore try waiting till the ball in equally over the ring and the tap to dunk.

As a general rule of thumb, if finding it hard to time jumps to hit the “Perfect Landing” the focus on the mascots shadow. The shadow will be a few millimetres to the left of the mascot, yet with a little practice it can quickly become the easiest way to perfectly time landings.

To Dunk or Not to Dunk?

Due to the nature of the endless run format, it may at times be best to not actually dunk the ball as a failed attempt will end a run, yet a withheld non-dunk will allow for further progression.  Therefore, as advised as it is to hit that sweet spot, it is better to hold off on dunks to be later rather than sooner, since if later players can always opt out and not dunk and as such focus on the next run and dunk sequence.

Personal Impressions // Review of Mascot Dunks

For anyone who ever grew up playing NBA JAM and the likes, then here is a great time waster that is perfect to pick up on the go and spend some time with. Yet beware, due to the simple universal one touch controls Mascot Dunks is extremely easy to pick up yet most difficult in putting down!  There is a “Pokémon” style fever that sets in where the want to collect all of the featured characters quickly arises.

The ragdoll style of mascot failing to successfully make dunks is another key highlight of the game as is the pinpoint commentary and applause which further heightens that “waku-waku” excitement.

There is however and unfortunately a very over abundant use of in app advertisements which prevent players from really enjoying a long stint of gameplay and ultimately is the game’s biggest downfall.

Therefore all in all, if looking for a simple game that is easy to fall into and not requiring too much attention, then Mascot Dunks may be great for you! If however, looking for something with a little more depth then perhaps sampling one of our other reviewed arcade games may be better suited.
Two stars out of five.
