An Introduction to Martial Arts Brutality
The martial arts as we have currently known them have now entered a brand new realm of savagery! In this beautifully rendered graphic novel styled turn based tactical card fighter, players will have to master their inner Chi to learn the ancient and formidable fighting styles of Kung Fu, Taekwondo, Wing Chun, Shotokan and many more! Fighting to collect and upgrade cards in order to win more difficult and destructive battles, players must compete to build their ultimate fighting deck!
Martial Arts Brutality : Gameplay
Expanding from the typical turn based real time brawler and card collection genre, players are wonderfully blessed with the “taunt system” of mocking and insulting opponents as they battle it out to inflict gruesome gore upon fellow players. Executing a variety of different devastating moves players fight their way to become the Dragon Grand Master of all! With simple to learn yet difficult to master swipes and taps, MA Brutality is fun for all! … Yet due to the graphic nature perhaps not for super young children… Similar to other card based games like Hereos of Skyrim etc. players execute moves via an energy meter (adrenaline) with more powerful yet difficult moves requires more adrenaline etc.

Tips ‘n’ Tricks for Martial Arts Brutality
Swipe Fast, Swipe True!
Due to the nature of the mobile platform and that controls are limited by those limitations the best way to defeat opponents is to be precise and pure in every move. This will take a little practice yet before too long, players will begin to see a pattern of moves and techniques which once mastered will ensure victory!
Strike then Destroy!
Once the basics have been mastered, the game quickly becomes one of strategy and skill of decisions. Therefore, whilst appealing as some killer moves are or as comfortable as some easy strikes are, the best format for success is to attack with a quick and easy assault followed by a difficult and dangerous assault. Then rinse and repeat. This leaves out the middle ground which means that battles are not left in the judge’s hands and are clearly either won or lost, yet if wanting to progress quickly, then this short and sharp attack is the best method.
Knock the K.O Out!
To ensure victory with sustained little damage players should always try to aim for the sure win of a knockout. To do so however, players will need to disable all four body zones which means that players will need to choose their attacks carefully rather than simply taking the easy shot each time.
The counter offensive strike is incredibly important to winning battles. Yet to effectively do so, players must swipe as fast as possible as close as possible. It is also necessary to swipe precisely perpendicular to the line so that a clean counter can be cleaved.
Skip the Skip!
The skip feature allows players to redo attacks if need be. Skipping will be absolutely necessary if zero attacks landed yet doing so comes at a price. By constantly using the second chance feature the adrenaline limit and charge will suffer and as such will end up doing more harm than good as players won’t be able to access more powerful cards.
Personal Impressions // Review of Martial Arts Brutality
The intricacy of design and sharpness of graphics which is boosted by the richness of the voice overs and sound effects are without a doubt a winning combination which makes Martial Arts Brutality well worth the download! Whilst the turn based action may feel somewhat stagnant to hard-core action fans, the change of pace is actually quite refreshing and allows for a more thought out experience compared to adrenaline ridden button mashing furry.
The replay scenes are equally vicious as is the multiplayer mode where players risk all to be the last one standing. The lack of aggressive pop up advertising is also very welcoming. Yet for ease of enjoyment the controls are just a little bit too finicky and annoyingly fastidious to truly become a highly addictive game. Following, as fantastically fun as M.A.B is it is alarmingly ravenous and voracious of battery life. The bounty system which requires IAP’s to complete also makes MA Brutality more of a pay to win than a proper free to play game.
Thus as brilliant as it is in some areas, unfortunately, Martial Arts Brutality doesn’t quite follow through, which is a shame since it has the potential to be an extremely magnificent game. Two stars out of five.
