Tips ‘n’ Tricks for Free Rider HD

Go Hard or Go Home!

Since there is no limit to game play i.e. no energy bar limit restrictions, the best way to breeze through levels is to simply floor it with the accelerator and pray for the best! Many levels will have hooks that catch riders, and jumps which need speed to clear the drops and gaps. So first off, just try to power through the level and then adjust if not successful.

Ride with Repetition!

Following on from the above tip, if simply powering through doesn’t work, then start to alter your ride and experiment with tilting variations. Similar to other hill climb games like Hot Wheels: Race Off and Mini Racing Adventures etc. tilt functions which adjust the angle of bikes are needed to successfully land certain jumps and landings.  Yet be careful with these controls as they are actually quite sensitive.  Therefore, try softly tapping the tilt controls rather than mashing on them hardcore.

Backflip!

Similar to tip number one, often the best way to succeed is to go all out! Especially when its simply a video game, so why not have fun at the same time?  Therefore, enjoy jumps with flips and tricks!  That said however backflips seem to rotate quicker than front flips, yet regardless of direction, be sure to level out by tilting the opposite way before landing.

It should be noted however, that performing tricks rewards absolutely nothing! The only reason to do tricks is purely for fun and aesthetics alone.  Yes it’s risky, but it is also enjoyable and why we play games in the first place!

Don’t be Too Stubborn

With literally hundreds of thousands of courses available to be played, if you come across a particularly difficult or unenjoyable track then simply skip it to better focus on either easier or more enjoyable courses. Nevertheless, as previously stated, players can continue to replay missions time after time with any penalty or annoying pop up advertising.

Create!

Perhaps the biggest drawcard to Free Rider HD is the player interaction where players can create their own unique designs and upload them for all to enjoy. Tracks can be super simple, frustratingly complex or filled with hidden Meta attributes to excite and please not only yourself yet others as well!  So if looking for a little something extra to an already highly enjoyable game, try your hand at creating some fresh new tracks!

Personal Impressions // Review of Free Rider HD

Free Rider HD truly is a game for gamers!

The speed of gameplay, ability to play runs back to back without any disruption or restriction means that players can very easily enjoy long sessions and is by far and away the most appealing aspect of Free Rider HD.

The physics based controls are accurate and concise enough to provide precise gameplay yet simple enough that anyone can quickly pick it up. The ragdoll crash sequences are another awesome feature which amusingly help alleviate the pain of crashing and burning.

Without any major flaws along with the perfectly balanced level of simplicity and intricacy of controls make Free Rider HD a highly addictive game that once started is extremely difficult to put down. For these reasons and more, Free Rider HD scores a solid four and a half stars out of five.
