Tips ‘n’ Tricks for Alien Path

Take the Long Way Round!

Despite how easy a law up an attack may be, also look for possible ways to use arrows to gain power and finish an enemy with only one move. This may mean traversing across the grid with a series of rotated arrows, yet will not only usually destroy one robot but also increase chances of Combo attacks by triggering pods along the way!

Hitting the green pods will trigger long range attacks upon the closest alien. While they are not as strong as a direct assault, triggered in multiples they can take out a secondary robot as your alien smashes into its primary target!  Taking out two or more robots in one move subsequently elicits bonuses and as such should always be aimed for!

Furthermore, as there is no time limit, take your time!!! Think about moves and plan out attacks with future moves in mind!

Study the Stats!

Be sure to keep an eye on both your own health meter and move count yet also on the alien robot’s health! The red line at the top is your HP with the blue line indicating available moves.  Rotating more arrows can lead to longer more powerful attacks but each time you do so, the move count decreases.  They can be improved along with your health by collecting blue crystals and red cross gems, respectively.

To check on an enemy’s health press them for two seconds to open up their stats. This is incredible useful for path plotting and strategy!  If a close robot has very low health yet it is best to focus on attacking a robot with higher HP head on while triggers green orbs which can take out the weaker one in a much more effiecient use of moves.

Crystals, Coins & Upgrades.

Apart from the main mission of quelling the robot invasion, players can direct their alien around the grid to collect health boosts, crystals, coins and others to quicken upgrades and unlock new characters which all aid in quicker progress through the game. In terms of using resources to upgrade however, most games fall into one of two categories… use asap or horde.  Whilst this usually comes down to player preference, in Alien Path, it seems more advantage to hold onto resources until levels become too difficult to complete, and as such players can use resources efficiently rather than waste them on lower level generic characters.

Personal Impressions of Alien Path

The mix of genres and in depth intricacies of possible routes on the grid is by far and away very appealing and quickly becomes highly addictive! With a simplistic concept, the upgrade system with card collecting features along with the vast amount of levels available allow for some in depth and thought provoking gaming.  The characters are minimalistic in design yet extremely quite as with the sound track and sound effects which are add to the overall experience without being over the top.

There is an energy meter limit which restricts gameplay, yet unlike a lot of other freemium games, here it is extremely generous with respawning and actually fuels players desire to make the most out of every round!

With very few pop ups and pressure to spend on I.A.P, there actually aren’t any major demerits to this free to download game and as such is well worth trying for yourself!
Four and a half stars out of five!
